Bike wise

How it works

The Bike Wise Challenge is a fun and free competition held in February every year. It is open to any organisation in New Zealand. The aim of the competition is to get as many of your colleagues to ride a bike for just 10 minutes or 2 km over the four week Challenge period. The next Challenge will be held throughout February 2012. Registration is open from 5 December 2011. But you can sign up to the site and log your bike trips in the meantime.

What do I need to do?

  • Form a team at your workplace
  • Register on this website as an organisation or department based on the size of your group
  • Once registered, get more colleagues to cycle from 1 to 29 February
  • Make sure you and your team log your cycle trips on this website
  • You can ride anywhere, at any time during February, for just 10 minutes or 2km
  • It’s not about cycling the most number of kms, it’s all about getting more people on bikes
  • Using motorcycles, scooters, static bikes or exercycles do not count as riding a bike in this competition.

The team that gets the highest percentage of staff cycling within their size categories wins!

How to register

Registration for the next Bike Wise Challenge opens on 5 December 2011.

Already registered?

If you have already registered for a previous year’s Challenge, you don’t need to register again. Simply log in here using your email and password. Remember to update your profile and organisation details if they have changed.

Request a new password if you have forgotten it.

New to the Challenge?

If you are the first person to register for your organisation or department, you will become the Challenge coordinator by default. You can easily change this later. You will then need to register yourself as a participant in your organisation.
