2010 Mayoral Challenge
This month nearly 50 New Zealand towns and cities are competing for the title of Cycle Mad City by getting as many people as possible to follow the mayor on a fun bike ride. Rain or shine, Kiwi's around the country are showing us how much they love their bikes by turning out in force behind their mayor.
A point is given for each participant, and the winning town is the one who gets the highest percentage of their population out on a bike behind the Mayor. Good luck to all the towns and cities taking part this year.
Tallying the points: Coordinators, please download the points summary sheet and submit it by Monday 8th March for your results to count.
2009 Results :
It was a fierce competition in 2009 as mayors around the country encouraged their residents to get out on a bike and have some fun! Congratulations to all the participants and coordinators of the 2009 Mayoral Challenge. 2009's Cycle Mad Cities are:
- New Plymouth District - over 58,000 population
- Central Hawke's Bay District - 11,000 to 58,000 population
- Opotiki District - under 11,000 population
